The F Furnace, the first QUINN glass furnace, has been running since 1998. It shut down at the end of January and after an investment of over £19m, will be back operational in less than 2 months. The furnace will come back with increased capacity capability, a change that will be complimented by the introduction of new forming, inspection and packing equipment.
The IS equipment will once again be supplied by Emhart and will include the latest Emhart NIS machinery.
The cold end inspection is also supplied by Emhart - Veritas and IBIC. Their installation has been completed and has been further complimented with updated conveying systems.
With the potential increased output our shrink-wrapping machines have also changed. MSK have installed most of the equipment and with some small programme mods will be completed on target.
The investment in F shop in Derrylin, coming after the recent opening of the Glass facility in Elton Cheshire, once again reaffirms the commitment of QUINN glass to the UK and Ireland Container Glass market.
